Ripoff Dishonest Rude Customer Service

I ordered a home study course from the Professional Education Institute in September. I received a free no risk trial of the product. After the 30 day trial I called to return the product because it was useless to me. They wanted to charge me $90 for a booklet of very basic business principles. The material was marketed as the Home Entrepreneur kit.in reality it was a how to guide that is inferior to any Dummys book at 4 times the price.

So I call within the 30 day free look and ask for a return authorization number. The sales guy on the phone pressures me to keep it for another 6 weeks at no risk and if I am still not satisfied they would gladly take it back from me. What he did not tell me was that if I didn't call back and return it within that time period they were going to charge my credit card.

So I get the credit card bill and call them and they, in a very rude manner (Megan, Employee # 308) tell me it is my fault for letting the guy talk me into keeping it and they have no liability, blah blah blah. And she is supposed to be a CUSTOMER SERVICE Manager? For the PROFESSIONAL Education Institute?

She was so rude to me on the phone, arguing with me, even raising her voice. Some Customer Service, it was more like a high pressure rip off scheme.

So now I am stuck with a useless primitive booklet that cost me $90 and is worthless to me.

I have done business with the Professional Education Institute before and they were professional and their material helped me. But times must really tough over there if they need to resort to tricking their customers into extended free looks so they can saddle them with terrible products that no one wants.
It must suck to work there.
