Trying to scam me out of money

About a month ago i recieved a letter from these people stating that payment was due on one of their products. They stated that my credit card would not take that was used. &i contacted them and told them that i had not recieved nor had ordered any products from them. That my credit card had a charge limit, (if amount went over 100 dollars to contact for approval). I told them that i had closed the said credit card due to previous problems of this nature a few weeks prior.&

Yesterday i recieved a letter from them stating that i owed the money. They would close account if i sent copies of a police report, and a letter from credit company stating that fraud had been done on my account. —does this mean that i go to the police department with this letter stating that they (professional education institute) are scamming me.-i never ordered nothing from them, never gave them a credit card. Charges where never accepted for product they are trying to collect for, never recieved anything from them.—what will happen next is that this will show up on my credit report.

This company is a complete rip-off - no one should be required to pay for something or be scammed like this.
