Ripoff

I was contacted by phone from an individual claiming to be from the Federal Grant Processing Center, a government related agency.

I was told I had been guaranteed an $8000 grant, which is granted based on either financial hardship or being a taxpayer of my city. He also asked if I had a bank account, was a taxpaper, had I filed my taxes in the past years.

The only requirement was to give my bank account number, he at no time at this point mentioned anything about a fee. I asked if they required a fee (I was online and while on the phone entered the name of the 'agency', which alerted me to this scam), he said no.

After pushing a little he admitted there was a slight grant application processing fee. He told me the amount, and it confirmed the amount listed of this website of $257.

I then told them that they are listed in here as a Rip-Off scam, he said we are a legimate company, do you or do you not need or want the $8000?

A man, clearly of Middle Eastern descent, named Don, said I could cancel at any time after if I wanted, and I could ask him any questions at all. That they were legimate.

I said no, he hung up ending with a rather rude and somewhat unintellgible comment.
