Don Ng owner Custom Door Direct low cost not worth it - stay away from this supplie

Echoing what others have said about Custom Door Direct and its owner Don Ng. Horrible lack of commitment, flat out lies about deliveries on everything from initial stain samples to the actual delivery of the door. Yes the door cost is cheaper than you can find at other suppliers and the quality of your door (when you finally receive it) is passable, but your door will likely not be complete when you receive it - and at that point it's too late. The door finish quality is leaves something to be desired when you're spending $3500 for a door.

We documented numerous times where Custom Door told us something had shipped and even provided tracking numbers only to discover that the tracking numbers provided were false. When they did send something FedEx or UPS, they chose a method of delivery that USPS could have beat using normal mail. Totally worthless when you're in the middle of construction and need info to make decisions that allow you to move forward.

They stained the door the wrong color to start with. Their website talks about numerous stain samples from which you have to choose. We never saw the full range of stains that are shown on the website. We saw six stains that they chose to send us, and then only after we complained - then they still got the stain wrong.

It took our cancelling the order to finally get Custom Door to ship, and then the only way that we allowed them to ship the door to us was by getting them to agree to a number of conditions that they'd have to meet including sending numerous photos of the door when it was done and in its crate for shipment. Custom Door said that they would personally truck the door up to us in Atlanta, but then they backed off and sent it via regular carrier.

Then the door arrived with the wrong threshold, with no interior casing, with no exterior casing, with no extra stain so as to match any problems or damage that may have occurred during shipping, etc. Still waiting on the stain that they said shipped two weeks ago and that they said they had on hand and was ready to ship, so our door is still not finished.

Other than taking our deposit, this company did not meet one single commitment that they made. Do business elsewhere.
