I went to look at washer machines at Kaady Appliance on 4/14.12. I ended up purchasing a Kenmore Elite Calypso machine for $300. The machine was used of course. While I was talking to the sales person he mentioned that I should clean the lint out of my pockets so it won't clog up the pump. He also tells me the machine is about 3 or 4 years old. I didn't know how to check the model number for date manufactured, but what I can find online is they were manufactured from 2000 to 2005.
So I wait until Monday for the machine to be delivered. They deliver it and take away my old one that is still working just not as well as it used to. I am excited so I put in my first load of laundry... And when the machine is done... My clothes were dirtier than when they went in! They were covered in some sort of slimey possibly food or vomit substance. So I run them through again... Same stuff... Nine times later still there!
So I go to the store 4/18 and tell them I am so unhappy. The offer to give me a more expensive machine. Note, they didn't bother to tell me there was not refunds, just instore credit. It was at the bottom of their receipt after I had already paid. So I accept this machine after asking them if this one will be clean. Yes they say. So it gets delivered the next day.
I am a little apprehensive, but what are my chances of getting a filthy machine again? Well pretty darn good! This time the clothes came out even worse than the first machine! It was some sort of sand looking stuff, maybe paper or who knows. I am in tears now... So I think, ok, well let me try it again, jst to make sure. I know this isn't coming from my pipes because the substances are different.
I try it again and part way through it stops "NOTICE! A problem has been detected with this unit." I am furious by now. The problem was more than likely caused by the filth they leave in their appliances.
So now I call and tell them I want a refund, I want my old machine and I want this one removed today. The guy tells me he is sorry but you can tell there is no sincerity there. They cannot do anything until Monday. My old dryer has already been scrapped. At least they are going to refund my money but then he talks about a 20% restocking fee. That is when I lost it! How can the have the nerve to charge me a restocking fee for their filth!? So I guess we will see when Monday comes.
