Over charging at registe

Went in to buy wood - the price was $6.48 on the shelf, however at the register it came up at $7.97: when I informed the cashier of the discrepancy she said while shrugging her shoulders, "you can cancel it" and no point did she offer to look into the correct advertise price! Rather then help me she asked that I cancel the transaction because it is "messing up her stats" - I had to escalate the matter to a store manager and was informed 20 minutes later that they would correct the matter - but due to time and he injury sustained at this store I choose not to business with them at this time!
