Sav-on express shelf tag price does not match scan price

This is a complaint regarding Sav-on express drugstore in Torrance on the corner of Anza and Torrance Blvd. BUT it is pertinent to all stores engaged in unethical pricing practices.

I occasionally stop by and purchase items from this store. I usually go to the bigger store a few blocks away. I have been to this store in the past and the shelf tag sale price of an item did not match the scan price at the register.

I called the Department of Weights and Measures to file a complaint but cannot remember what the out come was. I should have been more persistent if not for my sake but for the community.

This corporation has many stores in South Bay LA and someone should get the ball rolling in exposing their deceptive practices.

A few weeks ago I went to this store twice in a period of three days. Both times the item scanned the original, non-sale price.

When I tell the cashier the sale price they must go and check as if to say I am wrong and I must be looking at the wrong tag and Sav-on's shelf prices always match the scan price. No way!!!

Both times I was there I purchased only one item and I checked the price. This is an insult to second-guess the customer especially if the store knows that they are wrong. I know Sav-on could care less if I was insulted but they will care if they start getting fined for not having matching prices.

This does not matter too much if you purchase one or two items. You will notice the error point it out and not think much of it. How many times, though, does one buy a number of items and not notice?

My suggestion is if you notice a store consistently not matching their shelf tag price to the register scan price call the Department of Weights and Measures at 562-940-8911 (for Los Angeles). We must be pro-active.
