Baer's Furniture
Faulty merchandise, possibly deceptive response

Construction & Repair

We purchased 6 very nice looking counter height chairs in late December. They arrived in less than one week. They looked great.

In about one month, the structural screws started coming loose. Weeks later, the rattan backs started to come unglued. We contacted Baer's, and they sent out a repairman who tightened the screws and wrote a report.

Before the repairman left, he had me sign a form. He said that it was to prove that he showed up, since he was a private contractor.

Weeks later we called to follow up, and we were told that we had signed a form, agreeing that the faulty damage was due to misuse. This may have been written on the document after we had signed, since this was not on the form when it was in our house.

We had a second repairman come to the house. His assessment was that the damage was due to vendor manufacturing. Upon leaving the house, he asked us to sign a paper. We asked for a receipt, prior to leaving, and he said that it was company policy not to give a copy. We asked to xerox it, because of our last experience, and he said that it was against company policy, and refused and left.
