Tom Fritcher Took money for work that was never completed and that he had no intention of completing

I had to finally resort to firing Tom Fritcher from the contracted job. He had collected all the money for the job and had only about 1/2 of the work done, which he promised me that he would have done at the end of December the end of January and the end of February. He performed well on the small "test" jobs we had him do, so I decided to take a big chance on him. As the job progressed, He got to the point where he was adding on things that needed to be done and did not write them down and associate the check numbers with the invoice numbers (I have checks that were cashed without evidence as to what the balance went towards). I sent him emails explaining my position because when you talk to him on the phone, he doesn't listen. I have voicemails from Tom Fritcher, one that communicates I am right and he understand and the next one indicates that he has gone psycho and says I can fight him for the money. Well, I am not fighting anyone for money, but he can rest assured that he kept money he didn't earn because I have to pay someone I trust to finish the work without the attitude. This was an expensive mistake to make, but I learned from it regardless. I highly recommend going with Bath Fitters, who can have 2 1/2 bathrooms done in six days - everything that we initially wanted done for a fair price.
