Myplumber Pushes unnecessary additional services

We had My Plumber fix our downstairs toilet back in 2008. Work was acceptable, but the service tech said we needed a flow reducer for water pressure to the home (to the tune of several hundreds of dollars). We skipped this and everything worked fine. A few months ago, we had additional plumbing work done by Myplumber. When this failed to fix the problem, they came back out and discovered we had roots growing into our downstairs sewage sump. They cleaned these out (at no charge, since they had already charged us before) and we thought all was well. A week later we received a call from their office stating they wanted to send a camera through our sewage exhaust line to ensure no additional problems. We had the cameraman come out and scope the line—he said we had a divot in the line near the street. The estimate for repair came in at over $15,000. We had another plumber review the information and he stated that the divot they identified is very common and not a problem.

While Myplumber did acceptable work and provided a military discount, I couldn't help but feel in both instances they were pushing additional unnecessary services to inflate their bottom line. Beware.
