Defective duette honeycomb shades - customer was deceived internet

I live in Panama. I purchased the Duette honeycomb shades because the sun was fading a bedspread and a new building was being built next door. I went to Hunter Douglas on recommendation. I arranged for a sales person to measure my windows, also explained about the sun fading the bedspread. She said nothing about the hot sun affecting the Duette shades. She came a week later and measured the windows. The sun was hot and pouring through the windows. I even showed her the faded bedspread. She said nothing about the sun affecting the Duette Shades or whether there was a guarantee. I paid a total of $2266.74. A year later the shades had a "blistered" appearance with vertical depressions on the shades. The foil had separted from the paper covering because the hot sun had dried the adhesive backing. Air had seeped in to give the "blistered" appearance. The manager of the store came to see the shades. It was also a hot day. He would report to the central office. I even checked to see what sales persons in other HD stores said. It was a mixed "party line". Some said the sun was harmful, others said it wasn't. Hunter Douglas has refused to return the money I paid. I even appealed to the NJ Attorney General's office on consumer affairs. The question l (ike Judge Judy) asks is, "Would a retired person on a pension, spend $2266.74 on shades that would self destruct in a year?" I don't think so. My advice: do NOT buy these shades unless you live in Alaska! If you do, obtain a written and signed guarantee, then pray the shades won't self destruct.
