A-1 Trans To Add Insult to Injury - 8 months late

We used Compac Movers for our long distance move. We asked and were told that they do not sub contract their jobs. Well, they DIDthe move was a disaster. I am disabled as they knew and I was left without furniture for over 10 days. When our stuff finally did arrive after about 50 phone calls to the driver, much was broken and even some was missing. My bedroom could not even be reassembled. I had to pay a handyman to reassemble it and he could not believe that movers left this bedroom set as they did. Not to mention, the truck came at 8P.M. And left at about 2 A.M., not a very good thing to do in a new neighborhood, we were surprised that no one called the police.
Then to top it all off, when our belongings were weighed, they were weighed incorrectly and we were charged in excess of $2,000 to which we have weigh station proof. The owner Val, promised us a refund and kept telling us he mailed the check.instead, he hung up on John and told him to seek an attorney.
They act very nice to get your business, as the salesman Guy does, then they want nothing to do with you once your furniture is out of their hands.
We definitely feel that Compac Moving is a horrible company and the weighing tactics was disgracful. We have been left in terrible financial hardship due to what Val has done to us.
Allmost 8 months later...
After numerous attempts to get our money back, even involving The Transportation Dept.in Washington, D.C., the owner, Yuval Amiel signed an Agreement with me to pay me back in 2 payments. Amiel has paid me back one, and to date has NOT paid me the second which is over 2 months past due. Even Washington wrote him again and he even ignores them. I have corresponded to him in many e-mails and this man has more stories than the library, then finally in a saved e-mail, he tells me that I will not get my second payent. This company is written about all over the internet, so buyer... Beware!
