Today I visited Home Depot store #6665 in Corona. My cart already held more than $300.00 in in-ground sprinkler supplies. Then I headed to the garden department, where I wanted pavers for my backyard project, about 1800 of one kind and about 50 of another, worth over $500.00. The person presenting himself as the store manager, Joseph Mcaqs, was the one I talked to, and I tried different ways of explaining that I wished to look at ordering the pavers from the store. His attitude was extremely arrogant, and he obviously did not care what I wanted. He laid out the procedure and listed the people I would need to speak with, without any interest in assisting me. According to him, I could only go to the job desk between 8 AM and 5 PM. I repeatedly pointed out that, as with most people, I had a real job during those hours and was not able to come in. His response was that I would have to show up at the store's convenience instead of mine.
I walked away, said I no longer wanted what was in the cart, and vowed to stay away from Home Depot for good. Trying to do business with them is a nightmare. More than $1000 in business left that store today. Home Depot clearly has no care for potential customers and is busy driving them off.
