Attempted to decieve me into an unecessary and expensive purchase

Company rep recommended a $1,700.00 replacement that was completely unnecessary. Diff Company found minor part replacement only. The Day & Night representative was called to perform a service check on my house external A/C unit. He determined that the compressor was no longer functional and the entire unit needed to be replaced. He offered a price quote of $1,700 for complete installation and tried to set up a next day appointment. I refused to do so without additional quotes and the very next company that came out determined the actual problem within 10 minutes to be a minor part replacement and conducted the fix for just over $200. I believe the Day & Night company representative was either completely incompetent or more probably fully intended to decieve me into paying for a much more expensive replacement for a perfectly good A/C unit. I believe this company is utilizing a business model that supports fraudulent claims in order to generate an artificially high income stream.
