Dishonest, unprofessional, say whatever to get your business, pool leaks, spa is not a spa, roof leaks

Carolina Outdoor Living Design were hired to do a major landscapping effort. This included fountain, patio, pool, spa, lawn, lighting and other landscapping. My wife felt good about the initial meeting. Because I would be travelling, the bulk of the effort in overseeing the project would fall on her shoulders.

Almost nothing that they promised, they did. Everything turned out to be a fight. My wife was so distraught, my once in a lifetime trip with my daughter had to be cut short. The pool leaks 170 gallons of water a day. That means it has to be completely refilled every month. The spa does not do anything a spa is suppose to do. It is essentially a smaller pool The fountain wall is collapsing so the fountian cannot be used at all. The pool is for excercise so it has a jet to cause resistance. That jet comes on by itself whenever there is any thunderstorm in the area. The patio roof leaks everytime it rains. They did such a bad job putting in the lawn I had to give up the flower and shrub plantings so they could re-direct the money to re-do the lawn.

My wife and I had to get involved with the lawn re-do in a fairly significant way or we would be on lawn attempt number three. They left their Addidas footprints in the surface treatment, in over a dozen places. When it rains the electrical circuit to another fountain and lighting trips the GFI. We have to wait for it to dry out to have the fountian and lighting. The one thing they did do like a well oiled machine was to press on for payment when they felt progress was made. We made the mistake of agreeing with this because we were trying to keep them focused on getting things done. They originally told us it would be 6 weeks.

Sixty weeks later we were still trying to get things done. We intend to pursue this for as long as it takes. They have refused to fix this and use their caller ID to avoid our calls. We would be happy to share to share this horror story and details with anyone thinking of using this company. We do have legal action pending.
