Schwarz Construction finished off our downstairs in 1994. Recently, we had water damage and when they tore down the walls we discovered that he put in batting with 2x2's instead of foil faced polyisocyanurate against exterior cement block walls; R-value of 4.0 vs 9.8. Also, the heat run was shoddily made with a damaged open area allowing the heat to escape into the sheetrock. I was shocked at this and now realize why our heating bill was over $400. Last month.
