Sales rep lied to make a sale, crawl space liner leaks

The sales rep said the crawl space liner system kept out water, that it was made from pool liner material and "how does that water stay in the pool? This liner material keeps it in!". He insisted on my watching a video - provided little in writing - but swore that the liner would keep water out, that it was guaranteed against surface water and tears. He also tried to make me feel bad that I wasn't buying more because he "had a $2000 per visit quota"

So I bought the liner and it did not keep water out. Based on sales rep's assurances that I would now have a clean, dry storage area in which to store things, I stored rugs, boxes, etc. All got soaked. I did not realize this until a drenching rainstorm sent water gushing out of the crawl. When I removed the soaked items they had mold and it was clear that they had gotten wet before.

I called Permaseal and they sent out a "repair crew". When the crew got here, they said they could only call out another sales rep who would sell me another system. I did not want to buy anything more, I wanted the water to not come through the liner! The "repair crew" said that these liners always let in water! That my liner had a few holes and tears and that water was also coming in through the taped seams. Since Perma Seal had installed this, I asked the "repair crew" to fix the holes and the tape. They told me that they didn't have any repair material with them! That alll they could do was get a sales rep out here to try to sell me more!

I called the company and their stance was " the sales rep says he never said that. You have nothing in writing"- they refused to fix anything, even though their web site clearly states that the liner is guaranteed against standing water and tears.

I had to throw out everything that was in that crawl, including good rugs.
