Metro Spas And Pools
Improper installation and NON-Honoring workmanship

Miscellaneous

Three years and three inground pool liners later, I still can't use my pool!

I hired tis company on a recommendation of a neighbor to replace my vinyl pool liner. I paid up front with cash and a liner was installed only it was too small by one foot, all the way around. The owner of the company assured me that the manufacturer made their liners to fit this way, (with the pool floor seam not seated to the wall and floor, but one foot away from the preferred seated position), and added that when it warms up, the liner would stretch into place.

I knew this to be wrong and bogus, but I could not argue with him as he would not back down. I instead, called and complained to the manufacturer. The manifacturer, after about a year of back and forth, convinced the owner of the pool company to replace the liner with a properly sized liner. They did.

Now on the second liner, it leaked. I found a small slit cut into the floor of the liner, just below the steps. A third liner was installed about 10 months after the second one.

The third liner leaked even more water at a faster rate. Two weeks after the third liner was installed, I found tears in the liner where it was tearing away from the retaining screws at the bottom of th steps. Now, instead of re-seating the liner or replacing it, the liner was patched.

$2400.00 worth of new vinyl liner, (including installation), and it had to be patched below the steps. This did not stop the loss of water. I was told that the pool company could not find the leak and that if i called them out again I would be charged for a service call!

I called a rival company and after examination, it was found that Metro Spas and Pools, improperly installed the liner and stripped out most all of the retaining screws, securing the liner to the steps and water was seaping behind the steps and the liner, washing out the backfill behind the steps making them apt to cracking and washing away the sand floor under the liner.

Metro Spas and Pools deny all of this.

It has cost me the use of my pool for 3 years now, not to mention all the times I had to fill the pool and keep try and keep it full whaile leaking, plus $250.00 for another pool company to come out and evaluate the problem and try, (feeble as it was, not due to their fault), to stop or at least slow the leak.

Metro dosplays on their work sheets and receipts, "30 day labor and 1 year parts warranty". How can they not honor their warranty?
