Repair Rip Offs Conoga Park California

My fridge needed repair, so I looked online for a repair service that had some decent reviews. Allen & Son's had a couple of good ones and one bad one. I didn't have a lot of choice in my area, Long Beach CA, so I took the lesser of the evils I found.

The repair man actually showed up pretty fast. Within the hour. He came in fast talking, listening to the noise of my fridge and diagnosing within seconds and just happend to have the part in his truck, which normally takes weeks to order, so I'm getting a deal if I pay him $350.00. He actually said he will give me a senior citizens discount, eventhough I'm not a senior.
So I figured he'd be here for a while taking the fridge apart and fixing the probelm. 10 minutes later, he's finsihed and asking for payment. Telling me the whole time what a deal he just gave me. He was here for no more than 30 minutes total and charged me $80 for "cleaning", $150 for "labor" and $120 for the part. I was so stunned, that I didn't know what to say. Plus he was a big guy, about 300 Lbs. And I was by myself, I didn't feel comfortable confronting him.

So after thinking about this, I call the office and tell them what a rip off that was for no more than 20 minutes of labor. The supervisor said that's the normal charges, regardless of how long it takes and they have no probelm with the repair man charging me what he did. I was so surprised they were not concerned with my persepctive on this. I just hung up, again in shock.

These guys pray on people who don't have the knowledge of the repairs and rates or the time to find a company that won't take advantage of them. Please don't use these guys, you will feel taken advantage of.
