Handrail default took deposit never delivered material or installed railing

In December I contacted the company Artistic Aluminum, Inc. And spoke with the owner Rick Yeager about coming out to give me a price on some handrailing at our office building in Jeffersonville IN. I had done business with this company several times before and was always satisfied. So we met on site and he told me he would work up a price.

On Monday 12/31/07 I recieved a fax which was a proposal to do the work in the amount of 3,039.72, requiring hlaf the money down to order materials. The proposal was accepted within 30 days (as specified on the proposal) and a check was cut in the amount of $1,519.86 as specified in the proposal. The check was immediately cashed by the company.

A couple months went by and I contacted Mr. Yeager to see about the status. He told me he had been swamped and that he would do the work the next week. A couple of weeks went by and again I called Mr Yeager to see when he would be here. After several more phone calls which were accompanied by more excusses, I told him that he had untill May 1st to get the railing installed or we wanted our money back.

Obviously he never preformed the work. I tried several more times to reach him, but it seemed that he would not answer my phone calls. I even called from other numbers but when I told him my name he would hang up. I have left many messages to see if we could just get the railing that we paid for and we will put it up ourselves. To date, no work has been performed, no materials have been delivered and there has been no contact from the vendor. Watch out for this guy.
