Negligent, rude phone manner, didn't follow village code, shoddy workmanship, lied, didn't show up at promised time

Two years ago in the spring, Fortis Concrete Co. Demolished my asphalt driveway and poured a new concrete driveway and curb. They were fined by the village (the job was permitted) because they didn't call for the pre-pour inspection as they should have. Then, although the skies threatened rain, they didn't cover the poured concrete with plastic sheeting. Five minutes after they left, a heavy downpour ruined the driveway. We stood and watched as drops of rain created a pattern of dots all over it. They returned 10 minutes later and covered it with plastic. Then they waited in the van for at least a half hour for the rain to stop. When it did, they uncovered it, raked in all the rain and rebrushed the surface. Obviously, the integrity of the concrete was now compromised. I asked them if it was ruined and they of course said no. Problems occurred almost immediately as the surface of the driveway began to crumble. We waited until the spring (since they can't do anything in winter) and called them to complain. They ignored the calls until we finally lodged a complaint with the BBB. Then they came out and patched the surface with a product that didn't match the concrete.

Not only did it look horrible, but it didn't do the job. I asked them what would happen if this didn't work. They said simply, "just call us again." So that is what I did this spring since the driveway has continued to crumble and gets worse day by day. I've called them four times and asked for them to replace - not repair - the driveway. That is the only solution to their mistake. They have not come out to repair or replace the driveway and have given us false promises on the phone several times. I've waited all day on two separate occasions because they said they were coming out to look at my driveway but never did. When I called them the fourth time, they had the nerve to ask me to "be patient" when I've already been waiting for my driveway to be corrected for two years! They asked me to wait another two weeks. It has been three weeks and I've heard nothing.

They are extremely rude on the phone, particularly Marcello, who is one of the owners! I have to wonder why these people don't care at all about customer service especially when a lot of people (including neighbors who know I got a new driveway) say things like, "What happened to your driveway?" "Aren't they going to fix this?" "It looks horrible." This is a terrible testimony to their work ethic and craftsmanship (or should I say lack of).
