Shaw Industries
Wear and Tear not covered under warranty Shaw Industries took easy way out saying it was an installation problem Dalton Georgia

Construction & Repair

Three years ago I paid $7,000.00 to have my entire home carpeted with Shaw carpet. When we picked out our carpet we looked at the ratings for wear and tear. I chose a carpet that will show very little or no wear, which had a 5 star rating. The name of the carpet was Harvest Field and the color is 00223 Husk. Recently I decided to file a claim with Shaw Industries for the major wear on my carpet. Shaw Industries responded by sending a company out to take pictures and take notes on what they saw. I was told by the indivudal that came out to see my carpet that he would put in the notes for Shaw Industries to contact me once they recieved the report since the dealer is no longer in business. I waited a week, and decided to give Shaw a call myself. After talking to the represenative with shaw the end results were basically there is nothing that Shaw Industries could do for me. I was told that the early wear was due to inproper installation, that the carpet was stretched out too much when they installed it. I told her that the dealer was out of business and she said well there is nothing that can be done. I also told her how could they inproperly install 2400 sq ft of carpet. I could see if they accidentally made a mistake in one room. I also used a company that had been in business for a long time. I believe that this is an easy way out for Shaw not to stand behind their product. How can I prove that it is the carpet and not the installation. It is their word against mine. Now I have nappy looking carpent in my house that should have lasted alot longer than three years. Their product is not wort the money And their customer service claims department were not helpful or understanding at all.
