Mayfield Van Lines
They arrived late, tried to renegotiate, got drunk and packed terribly

I contracted with Baker Moving Network to pick up my items to move me from california to colorado. The morning of the move the company was due between 8am and 10am and no one arrived until 11.30am.

The company that arived was called mayfield vanline who i had not contracted with. They immediately began trying to renegotiate the contract to from $3700 to approx $10,000. I asked them to leave as i knew i didnt have that much stuff. I believed i hd between 8-10000lb or 900-1000cf as that is what i had moved in with. They eventually agreed to do the job for $5000. Later in the day i checked on the detail to do with delivery with baker and they kept ringing the driver of mayfield van lines which was disconcerting. I finally managed to get the delivery pinned down to an extra $500 if they had to offload into a smaller truck to access our property.

The job was a full packing, they packed terribly and many items were broken, furthermore two of the workers opened several bottles of alochol from our cupboards, without permission and proceeded to get drunk. The foreman / company owner was not around all day after negotiating the contract. My goods were loaded on the curb by the street until 5pm when the van arrived to move them. A watch and several other valuable items were also stolen.

When i have tried to complain and get details on the thief baker moving network says it isnt their problem and the mayfield vanlines and their owner lior are plain and simply liars and thieves. I know they have had numerous complaints made against them for similar issues.

When my goods were delivered it was by another company again who had not been told anything by baker or mayfield and only had staff to unload my items.
