Lied to me, scared me, wanted me to buy their furnace

I called Climatech at the end of last summer to get their $49 A/C & Furnace "Tune-up". A technician came to my home, inspected my unit then proceeded to tell me that my heat exchanger was cracked and also that I had a gas leak and he was legally required to turn off the gas to the unit. I asked him what I should do and he showed me some furnace and a/c unit options that I could purchase from his company. He said that it was just a matter of time before our a/c also started having problems so we should replace them both together. I asked him if I could have a written quote since my husband wasn't home with me and I needed to discuss this with him. He told me that he could not leave his prices with me in writing. After discussing this with my husband, we decided to get a second opinion because ultimately could not afford a new furnace at the time and fall was right around the corner. A technician from a different company came and inspected our unit and told us that we did NOT in fact, have a gas leak, our exchanger was not cracked and that our unit was running just fine. We also had to pay this second technician for the inspection, but it was worth the peace of mind. I have receipts from both technicians to prove that Climatech said I had a gas leak and he had to shut off my gas and the 2nd inspection did not show those results. I've also had carbon monoxide detectors ever since and they have never gone off. I'm very sad and concerned that Climatech would actually lie to somebody to make a sale. I should have filed this report when it happened, but was really motivated when I recently saw their full page ads everywhere and don't want this to happen to anybody else!
