2 hours late, contracted 3 men, only 2 show up, broken furniture, nerve to complain about tip size!

Well these fellows were contracted to move my fiance and I from a one bedroom apartment into another one a few towns over. We had scheduled them for 1:30pm with the caveat to allow them an extra hour giving them until 2:30pm. No problem, except 2:45, no movers... Call the office and speak with Guy, and are told, "Oh they should be there now, hold on I'll call dispatch. Well they should be there in 10 minutes, they had to detour as they couldn't fit through an underpass." 3:15, still no movers, call again, same line as before. To cut to the chase, they finally arrive at 3:45pm.

On to the next problem... We contracted for 3 movers as we have quite a collection of stuff, and unfortunately live on the fourth floor of a building whose elevator was currently broken (extra $150 dollar charge there). Guess how many movers show up... 2. Since we were paying by the hour, yet another call to the office... Third guy was sick they say and agree to send another mover. 2 more calls from us, plus calls from the movers themselves and finally at 6pm a third mover is dropped off.

This company advertised disassembly/reassembly of furniture, however they showed up in a Budget rental truck and had absolutely no tools. Also advertised were 2 wardrobe boxes and 5 dish boxes for free, well we had to practically beg to get the 2 wardrobe boxes (minus the metal bar that allows you to hang your clothes of course) and received 2 of the dish boxes.

Finally, everything is loaded on to the truck at around 9pm and driven over to the new location. Which by the way the driver had no idea where it was and had to follow us! Now the fun begins, as they are unloading all our stuff, much to the delight of our new neighbors. Finally at 11:15 they finish, at this point we have told them we will reassemble all the furniture, since we disassembled it anyway. Feeling bad due to the late hour and the amount of steps they had to carry everything down at the old location my girl, sweetheart she is hand the "supervisor" 3 bundles of $40 dollars each as a tip right in front of the other 2 workers with the instructions that they each should get one. She steps back into the new apartment to check for her copy of the contract, and then goes right back out as the "supervisor" had not left it. He then procedes to ask her if she wants to give him more money as "usually on a job like this they get $100 each easy" at which time she notices that the 3 separate bundles have become one and are all in his pocket.

The final part of this saga is the next day whilst unwrapping all our boxes and furniture I notice tape on the leg of a secretary style desk. While unwrapping the tape, I notice the leg is completely cracked through now, amazing since all along while wrapping our furniture, these guys would point out any flaws that were pre-existing. Guess that is how A-Trans hides there mistakes! Also notices several pieces have dings from banging into things and one of our dressers has a hole in the bottom drawer.
