Construction & Repair

We had two requests for repairs with HWA - of an AC and of a microwave.in both cases HWA sent subcontractors who are not adequately equipped to handle the customer's volume or variety of equipment. Subcontractors work the governmental hours of 8 to 5 as if this is still the 50s and there are stay at home mom to accommodate their schedule. No flexibility in scheduling.

In both cases spare parts had to be ordered and wait for 2-3 weeks to "locate" the part. During our microwave repair the subcontractor argued in front of us with the HWA rep how much that particular part will cost. The price range of the argument was between $17.50 and $185!?!

Also, once the parts were located we had to wait another few weeks for the subcontractors to have available time to come and finish the repair. Since in both case two different subcontractors had the same issues handling the customer's volume, it is indicative that HWA have bigger problems and have not made any effort to higher quality subcontractors. Not to mention that throughout the time of the claims the HWA representative are useless.

We have the HWA warranty from the previous owner of the house. It is to expire in February and we already got an offer from HWA to renew the warranty with an increased premium. Almost double! For $500 that they want for a year of premium and considering the value of my time wasted I am much better of putting those money in a savings account for emergency repairs.
