Ripoff Criminals who stole money for service and part not rendered

On 4-28-06 I was contacted by telephone at my home by Dawn at U. S Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration stating the previous owner of my home had an existing service contract with US Air Conditioning Heating & Refiger. The service contract had been paid in full for the year and 1 routine service check was due and paid for. Dawn explained a rep would be in my area on Monday 5-1-06 and would come and perform a cost free service call.

On 5-1-06 Christopher arrived at my home at 9:58am per the scheduled appointment. On entering the dwelling and review the thermostat and main air vent, I was informed that I had a problem with my air flow.

On further inspection of my unit located in my garage, Chris open up front panel of my carrier system and noted that I had a case of Black Mold on my coils and inside my unit. Chris informed me that black mold is toxic and if it got into my duct work would cause my air to be poisonous. He followed that up with Welcome to Florida Chris explained that to cure the issue and prevent future problem the unit I would need a cleaning of the unit, coils guards and a new Ultra Violet Purifier. The total bill with labor, materials and installation would be $1656.88. Chris contacted the office of US Air Conditioning and placed an authorization for 1656.85 of my credit card and scheduled an installation time of 12-3pm on 5-1-06.

Concerned that the cost was extremely high and that the Better Business Bureau listed 19 complaints in the past 36 months on US Air Conditioning, I contacted the office of US Air and spoke with Dawn at 11:10 on 5-1-06. I explained to her that I wished to have a 2nd opinion on the scope of work and to please hold off on dispatching the service installer. I informed Dawn I would contact the office of US Air by 5pm on 5-1-06 to let them know if I chose to go ahead and schedule the installation.

On further review, with another contractor, it has come to my attention that no only was I intentional mislead by a diagnosis of black mold but Black Mold can only be determined based on formal inspection by a Remediation Specialist.in addition, I was lead to believe I need a replacement UV Purifier. I was never informed by US Air that a UV Purifier is an optional accessory for my unit and not a malfunctioning part of the existing unit.

I informed Dawn and the owner of US Air Alfred Cox via telephone that I would not authorize any transactions on my credit card to US Air due to the services were not rendered and deceptive and high pressure sales tactic were employed. I informed Mr. Alfred Cox, owner of US Air that I wished to cancel any pending installation appointment and any and all future service dates.

The company refuses to speak with me and has charged my credit card and refuses to give me a credit.
