In 1998, my (now ex) husband and me went and bought a 16x80 Home of Legends from Meadows Homes. I was having my first boy and we were so excited. It was small but it was going to be ours.

When they were suppose to deliver, they called and informed me that they had sold the one on the lot that we wanted and was ordering us another like it. When it got there it was the same but different (I think cheaper) layout.

They came in and changed the interior to closer to what we wanted. That was good. They came and fixed cracks in the ceiling from the move.

Had no problems there. It was when we noticed that the roof was sagging in between beams that we started having problems.

They sent out someone to fix it and he stayed up there for about an hour and said it was fixed. Of course, I had just had a baby and my hubby was at work so I couldn't get up there and check.

About a year after purchase the roof started leaking over my sons room. I called back and forth between the shingle company and Meadows. One blaimed the other and wouldn't do anything about it. Now our trailer came with a 15yr shingle warrenty but it didn't work.

After trying for about 2 yrs to get something done and not even insurance helping I gave up. Now 8 yrs later, the ceiling leaks on both sides of the trailer all the way through the house. The walls is buckling and the so called sheetrock is falling apart. Not to mention the mold and mushrooms I have throughout the house when it rains.

I have 3 kids now and they stay sick from the mold and I can't get out from under this thing.

I can't even trade it in! I owe (somehow) $2000 more than what I made the loan for!!! And I called the same place to trade it in and told him about the house and just left out where I got it at; and then the seller started telling me how awful Homes of Legends
where and that they didn't sell them anymore.

What can you do when you don't have the money to do it with?
