On August 7 I purchased a wall-saver chair and love seat from the La-Z-Boy South San Francisco, Ca. Store. The furniture was delivered a week later, but the chair was the wrong model.

A week later, I spoke with the store manager as I was told he was the ONLY person who could arrange delivery of the correct chair. Well, the chair was on back order and wouldn't be available for 6-8 weeks.

After 8 weeks, I called the store and was told the chair would be in in another couple of weeks. This went on for several months - me calling the store (no one from La-Z-Boy EVER called me) and being told it would be another couple of weeks.

Once, around mid-November, they told me the chair would be delivered the following Saturday. Saturday came and went and no chair. I called the store and they had no idea what happened.

At that point I stated that if the chair was not delivered by Christmas, I would expect a full refund. I was told there was a chair in the wherehouse and they delivered it on December 24th. However, it was the WRONG chair again!

On December 29th, I called the store manager (remember, no one has ever called me) and we agreed that I would get a full refund. He told me it would take 2-3 weeks. As you can guess by now, the check never arrived.

I called the store manager yet again, and he said he would look in to it. He actually called me back to inform me it would be done in the next few days.

On January 27th, I called to say the check still hadn't arrived, and this time the manager said the check was cut on the 23rd. I called the store on January 31st, and this time was told I should have the check in two days.

Ah yes, as you can guess, no check in two days. On February 3rd, I called again, and was told this time the check would be cut the following Wednesday. This time I got the name and number of the person who cuts these checks. Today I called her to verify the check would be going out this week, and Vivian was so rude, she said the store should'nt have given me her number, and that all she does is verify the check needs to be cut and hands it off to someone else. She refused to take any responsibility to make sure this elusive check actually got sent out.

It has now been 6 & 1/2 months and I have been without my chair and without my money. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with an online customer service site at La-Z-Boy. I told La-Z-Boy that I assumed they would hold true to form and not reply, so we'll see what happens there. The BBB sends my complaint off to the store and gives them 10 days to reply. I will be interested in seeing if they even bother.

I am getting ready to sue in small claims court, and will do so within the next two weeks if a check is not produced.

I will NEVER purchase another La-Z-Boy product again and have and will continue to make it a point to tell everyone I know to do the same!

Shame on you La-Z-Boy!
