Ripoff, pricing fraud, promises a low rate but charges more after they have your stuff Maryland

Chesapeake movers gave me a quote $500 dollars lower than all other moving companies. The original estimate for a two bedroom apartment was 3 hour move. The movers arrived and looked around and said it would take 5 hours. It ended up taking them from 11:30A.M. To 8 P.M. At night just for packing the stuff. Now here is the kicker, in the quote they said they would only charge me an hour flat rate for travel. They ended up charging us 4 hours. I had to pack some stuff myself because they were taking too long.

They finally arrive at our new house and said it would take 4 hours to unload. I could have done it by myself in an hour. All they had to do was unload all the boxes into my garage. The truck was backed up to the garage so why did it take four hours??? There were three of them...

They brought a truck that was too small and I had to leave behind two big items. I will never get those back as I can't afford to rent a uhaul after paying them.

They damaged my hand made king size sleigh bed (teak wood) among other items. I am definitely going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and I will take them to court if they do not resolve this matter in a manner I will be satisfied with. Which means I will see them in court.

The original estimate was for $1,060, they ended up charging me $2,400. The company fought with me on the phone and tried to defend their slow and inexperienced workers.

Do not go with this company if you want a nice easy move. Pay more and get a company that is well known. Then ask for references, as I regret not doing that.
