Corporation ripoff Default on Warranty

I purchased a stainsafe fabric proctection warranty when I purchased my sofa.

I called for service on the 3/31 because of a stain. The tech. Came on-site and determined the sofa could not be cleaned.

When I called Stainsafe Inc, I was told the company I purchased the sofa from was out of business. I would either receive a check for a partial amount or I could wait for them to find a furniture store that honor the warranty. I had not heard from them as of July. When I called back, I was told that I had to give them more time and to call back 10/14 — if at that time, they had not found another store that would honor the warranty, I would be issued a check for the full puchase price of the sofa. I waited from April until October on a stained couch in order to let them honor their warranty.

When I called at the assigned date I was told that AT NO TIME would they honor that statement. I could either wait longer — up until a year for them to find another store to honor the warranty (which was not what I was told the first time) — but, even at that time, if they could not find a store, I would only be credited 50% the purchase price of the sofa. At no time would they give me full purchase price for the sofa.

The warranty states clearly that if they cannot have the sofa repaired, they will replace it for the purchase price — the warranty does NOT say at "an approved location" — it simply gurantees replacement.
