We hired Rescue Rooters to repair a leak in the plumbing to our house. This involved some concrete work.

I believed I was helping them out by giving them a check on the morning of the day they were finishing up their work. (Their story was that customers often did not pay them.)

The plumber I was working with—Dave—appeared to be honest and hard working. This was just an act. The truth is that these fellows are very practiced on getting a check from you. We came back later in the day, the work was not done, and they were gone.

A number of weeks have passed now. We made repeated calls. They act concerned, but they just waste more of our time, and they never actually get the work done.

This is all just an act. We do not believe they have any intention of completing the work. This is a classic rip-off, where a practiced sales person exploits a customers desire to be fair. Others need to know that the management of this company is not honest.

This is an affiliate of ServiceMaster home services. They have an impressive code of conduct on their Web site. This is all a part of their plan to exploit the customer. Do not be deceived. They want to take your money and run. ServiceMaster gives you their code of conduct on the Web,

I want a full refund on this $3000.00 job. They also dragged this job out by violating the law and failing to get a city permit. They keep telling me that they are sorry. They have my money, and I have had to invest quite a bit of time into getting them to behave responsibly.

If they have a rebuttal, it is more of the same bull. Just completing the work is not enough at this point. They do not stay in contact with us. Each time we call, they make us tell them the same story all over again.

I hope this complaint has an impact. Companies like this one need to know that they cannot just lie to customers and walk away. I should not have paid them, of course. These guys did do some hard work—I thought I was cutting them a break, but they just took advatage of the opportunity to cut and run.
