Brandon Burton Enterprises Plumbling left leaking after 3 repairs, promised refund but never issued check ripoff

Burton Plumbing was called to repair a leak in my plumbing - at the street - and an employee came to my home that night. He repaired what he said were 3 leaks or breaks and charged me $825.00. When he came to the home he had no plumbing parts or repair materials in his truck. He was extremely unprofessional.

Two weeks later a fireman came to my door and said that water was "running down the street due to a break" and that he had to shut my water off. Since I had a supposed warranty on the work done by Burton Plumbing I immediately called them. The same employee was sent to my home. He said that the warranty wouldn't cover the work he had to do now since these are "new breaks". My son and I examined the area he was working in and it appeared that the leaks were in the very same place that he had repaired before. He charged me $500 for this repair.

Less than a week later I attempted to turn on my lawn sprinkler system. It didn't work. I called Burton and the employee came out. He admitted that he had miswired the sprinkler system. After he worked on it for a while and turned it on he said that there was a leak, again, and that "it would be cheaper" for me to "contact the sprinkler company to repair the leak".

I then called the company that installed the sprinklers and they came out. They commented that the breaks were not repaired correctly and they corrected the work (for apx. $200).

I issued a letter to Burton Plumbing requesting a refund. Mr. Burton called me back, apologized and promised a refund of the second payment ($500). He also stated that the employee that did my work had been fired. Weeks passed, and even though I called numerous times I never received a refund - even though, each time I called I was apologized to and promised a check. During one call Mr. Burton even said that he has had to "pay out over $20,000 due the work" that this employee did incorrectly and again stated that this employee had been fired.

In my last call to Burton Plumbing Mr. Burton said that he wouldn't issue a check and said "go ahead and contact your attorney" and hung up.

I have since contacted my attorney (I have an excellent legal insurance plan through my employer - ARAG). Hopefully this will be resolved.
