McClenton said he could landscape my back yard by installing a drainage system, water irrigation system, and sod. My first concern was when I saw the drainage pipe in the back yard at least ten inches lower than the carry-out pipe to the front yard. (Water does not drain uphill). McClenton kept insisting it would drain. He failed to properly install the pipe. He laid perforated pipe in the trench. I pointed out that normal installation included the pipe being wrapped with landscaping cloth, laid in sand, then pebble/rocks all around, then the dirt and sod on top. McClenton then poured rock over the pipe so there were little rock trails all over the yard. He installed water irrigation PVC pipe on top of the ground instead of properly burying the pipes. These pipes went uphill and downhill and were exposed to the sun. McClenton used the wrong glue on the PVC pipes as well. McClenton laid sod incorrectly; rather than lay the sod in a brick-like fashion, he had edges meeting.

I foolishly paid McClenton. I never could talk with him in a reasonable fashion, as he would just sit there and repeat that the system would work, and "What's wrong with it". When I would explain the defects, he would repeat "It will work." I was successful in obtaining a judgment against him in small claims court.

McClenton also does not have a contractor's license and he bid his work over the $500.00 limit, which anything over $500. Requires a contractor's license.

Of course McClenton has failed to make good on the judgment.
