A reply of "I do not know" better than a lie

My wife and I went to Lowe's Home Improvement in Macedonia, Ohio to look for a new ceiling fan. We saw a Hunter fan that we liked. The package said, "LED lights included". We looked for a sales associate to ask what type of LED bulbs the ceiling fan used. The sales associate told us the ceiling fan used standard, medium base LED bulbs. He even took us to the area where light bulbs are sold to show us what the ceiling fan bulbs would look like. My wife and I bought the ceiling fan and returned home. I opened the box and, much to my surprise, found that the ceiling fan's LED light is a large ring with many tiny LED's embedded in the ring! Rather than the sales associate saying, "I don't know" or "let's open the box and find out what the LED's look like", he simply made up an answer. Needless to say, my wife and I plan to return the ceiling fan for a refund. We are highly disappointed with the sales associate's dishonesty.
