Selling 5 year warranty light bulbs that only last a few months

Lowe's is selling Bright Effect flourescent light bulbs advertizing that they are energy saving and long lasting (5 years). These are not cheap light bulbs they cost 8-10 dollars for two.

The two I bought lasted only 3 and 1/2 months. When I logged on the internet to find out what company made them I found that many others had the same problem. I believe Lowe's is well aware of the problem.

Lowe's would not refund my money and said that the 5 years was just an average and some might fail earlier.
After looking at all the complaints on the bulbs it is obvious that these bulbs are defective. Since Lowe's continues to sell them and does not recall them, I for one will take my business elsewhere.
