Pontiac 2007 g6 gtp engine failure at 77,000 miles? - pontiac g6 gtp 2007

Construction & Repair

I brought my pontiac 2007 g6 gtp with 77,000 miles into my repair shop again. Since i have purchased this brand new, i have done the required oil changes, air filter changes, etc. I have also had three batteries in the vehicle, had the control arms replaced, have replaced 5 tires, brake pads replaced, 2 sensors replaced and now, at 77, ooo miles, my timing chain broke, causing complete engine failure. According to my mechanic, it is a common complaint, but not at 77,000 miles! Iam 1 year past the powertrain warranty, no new engines available, and looking at repairs in excess of $3000! This should be a recalled item. Gm should reimburse me for repairs. What is my recourse? Princesssuzie@comcast.net
