Sears Won't Refund my money but THEY have the merchandise! - Kenmore Elite

Sears has been a NIGHTMARE! I bought a refrigerator from them in August-yes, 4 months ago-and am still having to deal with them! My freezer was leaking, so we needed to buy a new refrigerator. I went in and ordered a white one-to be delivered in a week-the fastest they could get it to me. Two days before I got a phone call saying it would be another week. We clear our calendar so that we can be there, and 3 days or so before I get another phone call, it's been back ordered for ANOTHER week! I said I couldn't wait any longer, and was willing to take a black one, but the black one was back ordered for 2 weeks! They had a stainless steel one which they agreed to give me at the same price. They charged me for the new one, and had to return the old one and credit me-which they did, in about 7 days. The story is even more convuluded, but the bottom line is that the new refrigerator started freezing my food. Again, (after having to first have service to confirm that it was freezing my food-yet another appointment and a confirmation that the refrigerator ran 7 degrees colder than it was supposed to), they agreed to bring me a new one and pick up the old one-again charging me for the new one and saying I would get credited for the one being returned in 7-10 business days. That happened on October 15th. Now, 2 MONTHS LATER, after HOURS on the phone with at least 15 different "customer service reps"-opening help tickets, transferring the case from one dept to another, etc., I still have not been credited $1700!! The government should investigate them. How they can hold my credit card hostage is beyond my comprehension! And now, believe it or not, my 2 month old refrigerator again started freezing the food. I'd return it, but they have a 15% restocking fee! Sears used to be a rock of consumer satisfaction and trust-WHAT HAS HAPPENED!!
