HP DV6449 stinks

The DSL function crashed on my HP DV6449 so I took it to a techie who said it needs a new motherboard. He informed me HP are notorious for this type of failure and that they had a recall but it expired last year.

I called HP because I was never notified about a recall but was told they wouldn't replace the motherboard.instead they wanted me to buy a new computer.

I told the saleperson that if they had a recall, it meant something is wrong with the computer and that they shouldn't have a time limit on a recall but he wouldn't listen.

He went on and on about warranty and I told him I had one but I bought the computer at Circuit City which is no longer in business.

I asked for the name and address of the CEO but he refused to give me his name, I asked for his boss and he also refused.

I told him I would buy another computer other than an HP and he said they would break too!

It was hard understanding him and I could tell I wasn't getting anywhere so I'm looking elsewhere. I ran across this site and just wanted to put my 2 cents worth.

HP needs to stand behind their products. They also need to train their employees on how to pronounce English words and techniques on how to listen to the customer's and interact with them. Customer service is just as important as the product.

They lost me as a computer customer. I think I'll hit Angie's List and see if they have a spot to gripe about HP.
