The good and the bad

Ok, so first the good... Cheap, cheap, cheap! My connection has been very good (when I'm connected!) its very clear, no interference, etc... The cost cant be be beat, $20 bucks a year for phone service, c'mon! Its great for those of us who primarily rely on a cell. My cell service happens to be lousy in my apartment, thats why i picked up a magic jack in the first place. Also i got it for $29.99/magic jack 1 year of service so didn't have much to lose! We've all blown $30 on dumber things, right?

So now the bad... First of all, you absolutely do get what you pay for, and i knew that when i decided to try this. This thing is a PITA to get installed, and you have to keep your computer on 24/7, or re-install every time you re-boot. Did I mention its a HUGE PITA to install?! Then sometimes, it uninstalls itself! Not sure if I've made myself clear on what an GIGANTICALLY HUGE PITFA this is to install, sometimes taking so many attempts, doing nothing differently, and then suddenly, as if by magic, it decides to install!!! Hence the name, MagicJack! Then of course magically, it F-ing uninstalls itself again! I can't believe I haven't chucked it through the window yet, though I have come oh so close! Website has NO tel # for customer service, no company address, so way at all to get in touch with the company except thru the online chat! Also no real instructions on how to trouble shoot if it doesn't install... Doesn't even tell you to try updating files which i automatically do anyway, cuz i know this may cause an issue with installation, but not everyone knows to do that AND kit doens't always help anyway! No backing up of the product, you're on your own. I know the thing is cheap, but they have been generating PLENTY of revenue to operate an actual company since it probably only costs them a few bucks to make the jack itself, and beyond that, they are spending nothing else per unit... We pay for the internet which provides the service itself! So to those who say, "its cheap what do you expect" I say, F you... They're making lots of $ off this little tiny device that IS a great idea, but they're not following through and supporting it, (may as well be dealing with chinese or japanese company for all the tech support available)... If they did that, they could actually legitimately up the yearly cost by double, it would still be a great deal and the service would be better... So they would actually be building a reputable empire that could go on for genenrations! Instead they've chosen to take the money and run, so this will be a shortlived thing unless they decide to have some INTEGRITY in business!
