My 19 year old daughter bought a HP laptop from "the official HP website" 15 months ago to go to college. It has been through three hard drives. The frist two times the problem was fixed by HP, but this last time, it was not under warranty. She called HP to express her concern that although the laptop was no longer under warranty, that three hard drives in 15 months seemed unreasonable... She reports that not only was HP not going to help her in any way, she felt that the rep was "condescending and rude". I wonder if it because she is a young woman (the rep was a male). I cant help but wonder if they wouldve treated a middle aged male in the same manner. Do they treat all young women this way? Not very bright on the part of HP... She will be educated, employed, and a consumeer with discretionary income of her own to spend in the next few years...
