Used car battery DEAD in TWO WEEKS!

Cars & Transport

Below is a letter I sent to Lakeland Automall:

Hello Joe, I called yesterday 10/17 and spoke with customer service about the bad battery in the car you sold me. I called back this afternoon, since I had not heard back from anyone and stated I needed to know something in 30 minutes because I needed to get a good battery, one way or the other. He confirmed that the best way to reach me was on my cell number. I didn't hear back so I had to buy a new battery, which totaled about $88. I don't hold you responsible, but rather your sales manager and service department. When the car failed to start three days ago I checked the battery and it was nearly half empty of water. Since the car had supposedly had the oil changed right before I bought the car, all the fluids should have been checked, including the battery. If the battery had not been allowed to run so low, it probably would still be fine, and I would not be our $88. If you can compensate me for that I would be very happy and believe what everyone there said about building long-term relationships. Otherwise, I will probably take you to court... I feel that strongly about this. The guy I talked to today, Andrew, made it very clear that batteries are not covered under your warranty... That may be the "letter of the law" there, but it's just not right. When I spend $10K on a car I expect it to start every day for more that two weeks!
