Went for break job, breaks were still failing and they said for $100.00 more they would give a better quality breaks so the problem would go away

Went in for a break job because the front breaks were grinding. Upon inspection the mechanic on duty said the rotors were in good condition I had caught it just on time. They were running a special deal on breaks, so they were replaced.
Several days later the breaks began to grind again so I took them back to their shop. Their response was that for $100.00 more they would give me better quality breaks and that would fix the problem because the breaks that had been installed were low grade quality and that is why they were still grinding. They were semi-metallic breaks and that is why they were going to grind.
The person in charge supposedly had the day off.
