I had the car in getting a power steering hose fixed and Goodyear recommended I get valves adjusted. After charging me 197.00 to adjust and put the valve covers back on, they told me it was ready to be picked up. After paying the cashier I went back to mechanic and tipped him 20.00 for taking care of my classic vehicle. He informed me it would be needing push rod tubes, I asked when and he said a few months. I was a little suprised later when I thought about why they did not call me and say it needed push rod tubes and the ones in there are 'rusted'. They let you know everything else you need when you take it in and I had not had any problems in the past with their work or their honesty.
The problem is after 250 miles a push rod tube bent and broke and rendered the vehicle unusable without putting in a cam shaft. I filed a complaint with Goodyear and they said they would not do anything about this as the recommended I put in push rod tubes. My point is they only made this recommendation AFTER they put the valve covers back on, and it would cost me another 197.00 plus parts to install and adjust. This was incomplete work to insure I would come back. Not a good business practice. I have had Goodyear do work for me for many years and will not be back.
