Ford warranty?

I have a 08 Galaxy and the warranty is out since April. The power steering needs to be replaced after 72,000 km. I have this car from new and for a steering rack to go so early is not normal. I contacted Ford and they will not cover any part of the cost. I feel they owe me as a customer some assistance with this. The main dealers quoted me 1300 euros to fix the problem.
