Ripoff false advertising of sale vehicle, hidden charges

Found ad for a 2003 Dodge Neon in paper, was listed as having A/C, automatic, 8 year 80,000 mile warranty, special price of $7995. Went in on a Friday to look at vehicle - already had financing approved.

Thanks to their mishandling of the paperwork, my finance company did not recieve the information until 5 minutes before they closed. They were not able to approve the car until Monday morning. The car dealership told me that they could not hold the car since it was an advertised deal.

Luckily come Monday morning, the car was still avaiable. I contacted my finance company and they approved the car and sent the approval to the car dealership. At this point, the assitant sales manager called me at work and requested my presence to seal the deal. I took off from work thinking I only needed to sign a couple of papers and would be driving off in my new car.

When I arrived the asst sales manager informed me that I would still owe an additional $1500 for warrenty insurance, an item that I thought had been clearly advertised as part of the car price. He told me that the 8 yr 80,000 mile warranty advertised with the car was only powertrain, the additional $1500 would cover bumpter to bumper the full 80,000 miles/8yrs. I told him that I had no interest in the extra warranty, I only wanted the $7995 price, not the $9000 price. He told me it made no sense for them to sell me the car without it, how else would they get their commission?

I think this is a sleazy practice, and I would love to forwarn anyone dealing with these people to ask for ALL charges up front and do not sign anything without reading it thoroughly. The assitant manager was rude, treated me like I was a dumb girl and that I wouldn't know any better.
