Cars & Transport

I would not recommend this place to anyone... Ever... I went to this place in hopes of getting my daughter a used car as a graduation present. I went online and found a decent price for a 2010 Ford Focus. The price I got on the car was $9998 from the Internet showroom. I get to the place and first the salesperson Carlos could not find the car. We drove around their lot for 30 mins just to find the car.

When I get to the car I notice the sticker says $10,998. I told the salesman about the price difference and he said we can discuss it later. WE get back to the showroom and he starts the paperwork and he writes down the $10,998 I correct him again on the price. Then he proceeds to tell me that if I did not use their in-house financing I would have to either put down $2,995 or the price of the car would go up. I had informed them before I got there that I was pre-approved by Captial One which has them as a dealer. He still told me that I would have to pay the higher price.

I did the math and since it was still within my budget I decided to go ahead. Worse mistake I made. The minute he mentioned about an additional price I should have left. So we did all the paperwork and after 3 hours I left with the car.

I got to work today and I reviewed the contract more carefully. For a car that started out at $12,993 they had financed it for 72 months and the total cost was $30,785. Nearly 3 times the original cost. Even at 17% finance charge there is no way a car price would jump an additional $18,000.

I called the Dealership and spoke to Sal and the minute I told him there was a problem his tone changed. He got anxious and told me I would have to speak with Nino who amazingly is not there today.

I financed my own car through HSBC four years ago and even with the financing, additional charges and higher interest rate — I still left with a brand new car under $25,000. So how in the world can they justify a used car going from $12,993 to $30,765? There is no way.

I am taking the car back, cancelling the contract, inform Capital One not to release a check to them and take my business somewhere else. There is no way that an exciting experience such as buying your child her first car should turn into a nightmare. Shame on you!!!

Maybe I shoud have checked the BBB site before I even called them... They have 66 complaints against them.
