They put a different purchase price on the contract then the agreed upon amount. They overcharged us by $2580!

We went to the dealership to purchase a 2010 Elantra Touring GLS (the base model). John Bruno, salesperson, told me they had 2011s coming in stock and in order to get rid of the 2010 model, they would give us a "crazy deal" on the SE model. We had a car to trade in and agreed on a trade in price. We then negotiated and agreed on the price of the new car including our trade in with both John Bruno and Gamaleldin Mohamed, an additional salesperson - $16,995. We gave them a down payment and secured insurance. I let them know, we needed to go to work so we had to be out of there in an hour.

When we went in for financing, they changed the purchase price on the car to above the sticker price (sticker price was $20,995 and the price on the contract as $21,000) on the contract. I asked the finance person to confirm the price of the car was $16,995. He confirmed it was (LIED) and asked us to sign the contract. He ran his hand over the contract and just pointed to the place we needed to sign.

We thought the payments were too high, he stated that we were getting a $1000 rebate and in order to get the rebate, we needed to finance at 6.4%. He assured us we could switch the financing 3 months down the road with our credit union. I confirmed again that the price of the car before tax was $16,995. He confirmed again (LIED) that was the price.

We were foolish in not reading the contract and trusting him at his word and signed the contract because we were in such a hurry.
