Ripoff sold vehicle trade with $2400 rims before allowing buyer to remove

I made a visit to Dobbs Ford on June 18th to purchase a 2004 Ford Mustang for my husband for Father's Day.

We were trading a 1998 Mercedes ML-320. The car was appraised and the value of the vehicle was determined to be $7,000 excluding the custom tires and rims. The sales person informed my husband and I we would need to put the original rims and tires back on the car after the negotiation was final.

I signed the paperwork and left the lot. My husband had to get back to work so the salesperson told him he could go ahead and take the new vehicle and leave the trade in and he could come back on Monday, June 21st when he was off work to bring the orignial tires and rims and to get the new vehicle cleaned and fueled.

When we got to the lot on Monday, they fueled and cleaned the new car but informed us the trade in had been sold "as-is". For the past 2 weeks, I have been lied to, given the run around and ignored by everyone from the Salesperson to the General Manager. I was finally informed on July 6th that the wholesaler was contacted and the car was sold and nothing could or would be done. My husband has a friend that knows the wholesaler and he was informed the wholesaler purchased the car in part due to the custom rims and tires.

The dealer paid us the value of the car without the rims and tires but sold the car for the value with custom wheels and tires. The General Manager even refused to give me the name or contact information for the corporate office. He told me to do the research myself. I am extremely upset. This is the only Ford I have ever purchased and this will be the LAST!

I own a Mercedes and BMW and have owned a hosts of other cars in the past and have NEVER had this happen.
