Ripoff—non working '99 silverado anti-locks

1999 silverado 1500 lost performance on anti locks at approx 50k miles. They are not working. The anti lock motor located at drivers side under vehicle will not stop humming. I have been quoted $800-$1000 to replace motor. Too much! I simply removed the fuse for abs and drive without the abs. Many with same problem. Gm fix your mistake.
